I have a friend who recently purchased a 99 DII, and is interested in putting a CDL linkage in. I have on 00 that I put a linkage from a DI in, and we are aware of the different kits that are available for this. However, the thought occured that now that the 04's have CDL again, there should be some factory part numbers for the new DII linkage. I tried looking through the parts diagrams that the dealership had on the computer system with the parts manager, but we couldn't figure it out. Would anyone have any ideas about this, or possibly actualy part numbers that would get everything we need in order to install it?

PS - the linkage I got from a junked DI basically fit but required some bending of one component (there is a write up somewhere online, but I don't remember where) so I don't know if the linkage is the same with that piece modified, or if they came up with a completely new type of linkage.

Thanks

According to the service manager I spoke with, the '04s utilize the same mechanism from the D1s. While my '99 DII was having some work done, I got an '04 DII loaner. I climbed underneath it in order to see the linkage, but it did not appear the same to me. It looked as though it was cable actuated. The reason that I say this is b/c there was no "feedback" from the Xcase shifter while inside the cab traveling down the road....

S Marks is right - the '04 models are cable activated to eliminate the lever from vibrating (not really a big deal in my opinion) - the dealer would probably charge an arm and a leg for the new parts (its more then just the cable) so i would see if you can find another used DI linkgage

ahhh, well then that makes sense as to what we were seeing in the parts blowup. Because they had some kind of cable setup, but I was just thinking it was a picture of the old standard linkage.

Thanks
