2006 LR3 Brake Bulb Gremlin

I started getting the old brake light bulb gremlin. Power drain, limp mode all kinds of craziness.

Left wondering if I upgrade to the LR4 style LED taillights will this eliminate the need to continually check and change the break light bulb.

Has anyone had this issue, changed to LED and been successful?

Get OEM bulbs and replace your brake light switch

Swapped the brake light bulbs, now I am getting a hyper flash from the rear turn signal. Still the power drain continues and random totally dead, requiring a jump to start.

Today the voltage meter was reading 12.7 off and 13.6 on

Do you still believe that simply swapping the brake light switch and now all new bulbs in the tail lights would do the trick?

They go bad and cause issues so go ahead and replace it. If it’s not the issue you’ve now got a spare to keep

This is absolutely NOT specific to the 2006, but relates to all LR3s.
