That's right Ricky Bobby, real racing is here! Australian Grand Prix this weekend at Albert Park. Going to be covered on SpeedTV live Sunday night.

Can Mercedes improve their race reliability?

Can BMW combine their HP with the new gearbox?

Can Kimi Raikkonen make it happen while in Ferrari red?

Thoughts / comments?

Speed TV...old dudes sitting in a room in Atlanta or someplace talking over the satelite feed.

At least the racing is good!

I may turn to a little more Formula racing, now. Once NASCAR goes to the new car, I think it's going to be just another Iroc circuit, basically. Boring. NASCAR is really fucking them selves.

Yeah I wonder if they will have Peter Windsor working for them this year. Can't wait the Tivo is set.

Kimi is a bad ass. The Red should suit him well.

BMW has a ways to go.

Mercs should be contenders this year (but should have been for the past two years) Alanzo is a great driver, but the Renualts are also AWESOME cars, should be interesting how he does in a McLaren.

Renualt is still going to be good, but the driver change is going to hurt.

I hope Speed (the driver, not the channel) does well, the kid has potential.

Hmmmm.....
Road Trip to USGP anyone?

Dan,

If the losers at NASCAR would remove the restrictor plate and stop with the PC / Rule police; it would be fun to watch. But it is sooooo boring that after 20 laps or so...I am snoozing.

Hmmmm.....
Road Trip to USGP anyone?

Is the USGP still in June? or has it moved?

I lost interest in NASCAR years ago. F1 is so far and away a better series. Especially live, when you are at the track...it is unexpanable, but an amazing experience. Seriously, we need to get a group together and go! I have taken a handful of die hard NASCAR fans with me before to the GP and the general consecus was, and I quote, "fuck NASCAR"

without schumy it will not be the same. I never thought I would have to root for Kimi. I hope Massa outdrives him (Ha!, never happen)

Since the race is in Australia, the live coverage on Speed channel is on SATURDAY night in the US. 7:30pm Pacific Daylight time for prerace (Peter Windsor, et al), and 8:00pm for the race. Other time zones adjust accordingly.

Kimi was truly ice last night. It was like watching schumacher cruise to an easy win. How about those Mercedes? I have a feeling there are going to be some good fights this year in qualifying and pit strategy.

Did you catch the end of the 12hrs of Sebring? Jamie Melo and the Ferrari doing his best Ricky Bobby to nudge the Flying Lizard 911 off line? Bergmeister was POed over the radio after, and I don't blame him one bit. Very exciting finish right up to the end. I know some folks call it part of racing, but that push-and-tag style thrown down as a trump card to take the win when your other skills and team decisions have let you down is just not good. Dirty.

Exciting race tho.

And Kimi was amazing.
