Greetings,

I recently purchased a 2007 LR3 HSE and am wanting to complete an entire fluids service (engine oil, transmission fluid, diff fluid, coolant, etc.). My question is: what fluids (brand/type/weight) are everyone using? My vehicle has 136,000 miles, so I may replace the thermostat housing and coolant hoses - just to be safe. Any other items I should replace while doing all this work?

Yes, I've consulted the owners manual. Just wanting individual opinions on fluids for my vehicle...

I daily-drive a fixed up D1, so these "new" cars kinda freak me out : )

Cheers,

Casey

I'm sure you could cross reference all the fluids and buy it from another source, but it would be easier to get genuine fluid. The trans fluid is mineral oil based, the diff fluid will be different if it's a electronic locking diff, t case fluid is some kind of funky smelling special fluid too.
It's hard to keep track of the shit when it's in Rover bottles.

Oil- Differs by your location on the planet. I use 5W-30, but live in a hot place all year round- Never Synthetic
Transmission Fluid- This is specific stuff and judging by this post should only be changed at an Indy or Dealer
Trans Fluid- This is also specific and must be changed pretty regularly to avoid damage to the diffs. Mine was $440 including time at an Indy
Coolant- Stick to the LR
