Maybe if you post it for sale again in 6-month things will change.

No, I doubt you will change.

Again, you lack accuracy for the sake of being a pointless jerk in this thread. It would be unwarranted even if you were accurate.

Thanks though for finding my thread so important to you personally.

Here is what LR3's are selling for, since you clearly do not know.

You clearly don't know the difference in SE vs HSE. People who want the extra options generally do, those who don't, don't matter.

Even IF you take the closest one on that list, could buy it at the auction price (which most people can't), adding only 50% for parts alone ends up at exactly my asking price which is both fair and realistic considering it's condition and other things included like wheels and tires.

why did you do all that stuff to it and keep trying to sell it? (not flaming, just asking)

You're a total fucking dumbass. If someone wanted your pile of shit truck, it would have sold when you first put it up for sale over 3-years ago. You're truck is not going to sell. Not here, not anywhere, at that price. Figure it out.

Most likely private, right? Bummer... I'm in the market for a vehicle, and I would love to browse around & see what's up at auctions.

Yes. You need to have a dealers license to go to 99% of the wholesale auctions. Adesa and Manheim are the main ones and those are all dealer only.

You can always go to a small dealership and work out a deal with a salesman. Like you'll pay him $500 to buy you a specific car at an auction.

Besides you being an asshole for listing old threads mostly being bitch fests, how is $28k now sarcastic? Past threads are entirely irrelevant to the current "asking" price.

People pay $25k for plain stock versions, why not a few $k more for some extra stuff?

Why don't you attack the people selling old discoveries with tdi conversions for those high prices?

Don't say it's because those other vehicles are rare.

I clearly specified the price is flexible as there are a number of items someone may or may not want.

Why don't you give yourself a day to think up something useful as well as honest instead of your usual off the cuff bullshit meant only to poke fun or harm?

unless daniel makes an offer, i'll give you my wife's D2 and $1100 cash.

I guess some dealers are getting desperate, if a Dealer charges only $ 500.00 I would have some sort of contract like..... if the car has paintwork, or any other abnormally you do not have to buy it.

I have bought several vehicles at Manheim for friends ( $ 0.00 charge ) and I have to tell you, all the pre -purchase work it is not worth it for $ 500.00, unless they just stand on the block and buy whatever comes through it.

I mean, dealers do not get the Unlimited CarFax or Autocheck, cost is anywhere between 5.50 and 10 per vehicle ( I run both as they do not show exactly the same info sometimes , like accident on one but not the other, possible rollback..etc ) let's say, you want a car with clean history, and there are 10 to choose from ( $ 155.00 ) then the trip to let say Manheim PA ( $ 80.00 fuel and meals ) then your time including running the reports, look at the cars thoroughly, maybe using the paint meter, etc.. lets say 12 hours ..at " slave rate " ( $ 180.00 )..so all that for a loss on a $ 25,000 vehicle...not so good

Yes I am assuming some kind of very informal agreement. Lots of guys did it (and I did it too) where we had a list of vehicles people wanted, the price and a range of options (color, mileage, etc) that had preferences for.

If you're already at the auction like every dealer is at least once a week, it's easy money. As I always like to say, "a quick nickel is better than a slow dime". This way you don't have to floor plan or finance the vehicle or even bother with getting it ready for the lot/showroom.

Just make sure it's not some odd ball car that you'd never be able to sell if you get screwed.

I think what Gustavo is saying, very loosly translated, is you get what you pay for- dealer wise, and any money saved/made on a vehicle comes on the front end- buy right. Why are so many people penny wise and pound foolish? Ante up a decent commission to someone who not only knows cars- but Rovers specificly. Ask them to get you X when the right one comes along, and the whole process will be much better with a very different outcome. And remember- the sales/auctions are not the best deals. Work with a good sales guide at a good dealership and ask them to flip you a traded in Rover that meets your criteria- before it ever reaches Manheim...

Back to Jame's LR3- it is a heck of a deal for someone wanting a properly kitted LR3, for someone using their truck. However, not such a deal for the poseur- can you imagine waxing all those skids:)

Dale, that is exactly what I meant with my long post.

Thank you for clearing the air/dust *LOL*
