Maybe by that time my wife gets tired of LR4, so I can take it over as well.
For now, it is D1. My plans to get a G wagen went on hold.

And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Land Rover, then shalt thou count to D1, no more, no less. D1 shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be D1. LR4 shalt thou not count, neither count thou D2, excepting that thou then proceed to D1. G-Wagen is right out. Once at the D1, being the third truck to be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Land Rover of Solihull towards thy trail, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.

Holy shit Chris... that's one hell of a long-winded opinion :)
... but I thought a G-wagen would be not much worse of a match to 110s than a D1. Just drove behind one on my way back to work from O'Reilly's (where I picked four wrong parts).

Looks like an awesome trip. I would definitely love to make it if Utah wasn't like 4 days away. Ever think about dweb in somewhere like Illinois or western Tennessee?

Oh, Peter, I kid. You'd have an invite on this trip even if you drove a CRX.

now that I thought about it... Killed two hours last night watching Top Gear in Patagonia - a Lotus might be in order!
