I've searched and seen a variety of responses - including that the entire system can be disabled with the Gap IIDTool.

My TPMS is working fine with my stock 19" wheels & tires but I'm about to put 18" Compomotive wheels and new tires on. I have 3 good TPMS sensors on the Compomotives, a 4th sensor with a cracked housing, and a 5th sensor that is totally destroyed. I'm sure I can have a full 5-sensor set by combining what I have in the 19s along with the 18s, but I'd really prefer to eliminate it altogether (and sell the 19s with the original sensors). I dial in my air pressure based on Land Rover's specs, my new tires' specs, and my own preferences. I also air down on long offroad trips. I don't want to deal with more dummy lights on the dash.

So is the TPMS completely defeatable?
