October 1-4. Www.roav.org
Registration is now open.

It is that time of year again .... time to start planning out the Autumn Rover adventures.

The Rover Owners Association of Virginia is planning the 2015 Mid Atlantic Rally.

October 1-4 Wheatland Farm, Pembroke VA
Location: 100 Hoges Orchard Ln, Pembroke, VA 24136

REGISTRATION:
Registration is now open on the ROAV website: roav

Early registration is $90. Registration will go up to $110 starting September 18th at Midnight.

Every rally participant must purchase or renew their annual membership with the Rover Owners Association of Virginia (ROAV). The cost of annual membership is $20 and all memberships must be renewed in October of each year.

Rally participants that wish to bring more than one Rover may do so at an additional $25 per vehicle.

TRAILS:
There will be trails available for all skill levels.

* Beginner / Stock Trucks (over 8 miles of fire roads)
* Intermediate / Modified Trucks
* Intermediate to Advanced / Modified Trucks
* Remember – TREAD LIGHTLY

All trail rides will be guided.

We are pleased to announce that the property manager will allow us to travel through the lower fields across the street from the rally camp area to gain improved access to the trails. This negates the need to drive the 7 miles to the top of the mountain and enter there like we did last year. The lower fields will be stocked with cows and as a condition of this access, we must have guides escort trucks. Please remain with the group guides and be respectful of the property owner and his livestock to ensure that we are able to hold future events here.

CAMPING/LODGING:
Primitive camping is available onsite. Tents, campers, and trailers are all allowed. The short road in to the rally area may not be friendly to oversized rigs (large RV’s or 5th wheel trailers) but standard sized campers and trailers should have no problem. Flat ground is at a premium, so please plan ahead and bring plenty of leveling blocks.

There are no electricity or plumbing facilities. Port-a-Loos will be provided.

There is access to a hose bib that is attached to a natural spring. This was used in the past to supply drinking water for livestock. The water source has not been tested by health authorities but locals drink the water – and so does Bob Steele – if that is any measure of suitability.

Generators are allowed. Rally participants should remember to be courteous with generators and mindful of the noise. We ask that all generators be shut down by 11:00pm.

Hotel accommodations can be found nearby at Mountain Lake Hotel or at any of the various hotels in Blacksburg, VA. Rally participants are on their own if they wish to secure a hotel room and these costs are not included in the cost of registration.

MEALS:
A caterer will provide meals to anyone interested. The costs are $20 per adult and $10 per child. This year's menu will likely be chicken with traditional sides and a dessert.

T-SHIRTS:
T-Shirts will be available purchase online with early registration for $20. A limited number and size selection of t-shirts will be available for purchase onsite.

FIRES:
Campfires are allowed at each campsite pending current weather and fire conditions. Please be safe with fires, keep a water source handy, and do not leave fires unattended. Check in with Rally Control to stay informed on current fire conditions.

RAFFLE:
Every registered Rally participant will receive a raffle ticket at registration. After dinner on Saturday night, the additional raffle tickets will be sold and prizes will be given away.

PETS:
Pets are allowed. Please remember to be courteous and safe with your pets and keep them leashed at all times.

Keep an eye on the club's web page or Facebook page to stay up to date on the latest.

... Also - there is a work weekend scheduled for this weekend. All current club members are welcome to attend. We will be clearing trails (weed whacking) and other trail maintenance work. This is a chance to get familiar with the trail network and be one of our trail guides for the event.

Actually anyone who has been to one of the work weekends can act as a trail guide, so last year we had small groups going out pretty much at will. So, sorta guided for anyone not already familiar with the property.

If Steve were to show up he would be so tactical we would never know it. Maybe disguise himself as a Yeti Cooler. I hear those are popular on The island tours now.

Looks like the weather will clear up for the event. Jeff from Roversnorth, Joel from Buckhorn Imports, Justin from Lucky 8 and Will Tillery will be in attendance. We have some hands on demos planned as well as an RTV course. It looks like we will have around 100 trucks, a good number for this property so the trials should be fairly open. Trail rides will be open unguided for parts of the event as well. Looking forward to it.
