I couldn't imagine not having a pickup, even if it's just an as-needed POS. If your a man doing manly things you have to have a pickup.
I can’t ever imagine owning a pickup. The roof rack on the Rangie works fine for long items and the cargo area in the Disco holds most of what I need.
Local lumber mill delivered all the locust fence posts and boards for fence repair.
No thanks.

I didn't enjoy driving my Silverado. Even doing all the home projects/reno I've done the past 4 years I really only "needed" the bed 5-6 times. Big projects material delivery is free or $75. I can always swap cars with a friend or family member if I need to use one, or even better, just buy a small utility trailer.

The pickup box is just wasted space 90% of the time for me, and the unloaded ride quality is shit, even after I put in new leafs and a Deaver mini pack in place of the overload leaf on my 1500.

To each their own I guess. I've either owned a truck or had a company provided one for the last 35 years so can't see being without one. Need some rock, jump in the truck. Mulch for the beds, lumber, buy some furniture, jump in the truck. Fuck that delivery shit, I'm not living on someone else's schedule. Now after my current truck bites the dust I might not have one as a DD again, but I will have one.

Right now I can't even pull a trailer. I have no tow vehicle. And before any of you chime in about towing with a Disco, it's rated at about 2,000 lbs.

Yeah, I remember 'towing' with my Disco. The thing could barely get out of it's own way towing a 6x8ft trailer with a light ass dirtbike on it.

Having a truck is definitely nice, but a lot of times shit you see in the store and want to buy a set of (e.g., furniture, etc.) they have to ship from the warehouse anyway, so they might as well deliver that shit to my house. Unless of course it costs way more. I am all for picking up my own shit though as well.

As JG Wentworth commercial goes, "It's my shit and I need it now!"

It towed just fine. You guys ever tow with those old 454 square body Chevys or 3 spd 351 fords? They couldn’t get out of their own way either.

Ok, the big searay was pushing it but it was only a couple miles under 35 mph.

When you say pushing it with the searay are you talking about that illegal act of towing that thing on a puplic roadway with a Disco? You ever see a State Trooper break out scales from his trunk at an accident? Good times.

D1 is rated at 7700, that searay and trailer were about 7500 dry.

Towing isn't about what my rig will pull. I'd be willing to bet (because I know you are) you are breaking all kinds of laws as to tongue weight limits etc. It's not just the limits of the vehicle, it's the limits placed on the equipment used to attach what's being towed to said vehicle. That said, towing isn't about pulling, it's about stopping. So when that car pulls out in front of you and all hell breaks loose and that boat ends up on top of you and yours you'll be painted the dumbass.
