It goes on your wrist like a watch or a Fitbit. You leave your wod of keys in the truck. Get out and within a set timeframe after closing the last door you hold your wrist up to a target on the tailgate. Doors lock. Then when you return to the vehicle you press gate release sw( it won't open) to wake up vehicle. Hold your wrist to the same target and vehicle unlocks.
Holly shit Brett. Seems like you just need to hate this truck. You have to actually press the brake pedle to stop the truck, is that going to be a problem?Damn that's gimmicky. Who the hell wants to wear that on their wrist? Does it tell time? Tracks steps? Make phone calls? This thing is just as dumb and pointless as their cell phone.

Two options that make more sense.
1) Smartphone/smartwatch app. Everyone carries one, just let it open your doors.
2) A nice, climbing rated carabiner with a built in chip to unlock your doors when in proximity. Keep it clipped to your keys. When "Activity-ing" just unclip it and clip it on your belt loop, backpack, kayak, whatever.
Brett, I liked the solution I saw on a friend's VW Golf Alltrack. The car has a proximity sensor and when the fob is close enough any door can be opened, which is useful if you're carrying stuff. I like your idea better, but I wouldn't make it a fully rated climbing biner. With my luck my partner would leave it at a rap station. Five hours later we're back at the car. "Dude, where's the green Land Rover biner?" "Shit, I think it's three pitches up on the route!"

And oval shaped
This is thing that can be put on all these cars. Can't remember when it started, maybe 2017? The activity key that is. The passive entry system tugela is talking about I'm pretty sure we've had since 2014.It just seems like they compensated for not giving a large customer base what they wanted in the Defender, by coming up with gimmicks even less people will want. I really wanted to like the Defender, but I just can't.
Last winter I was parked at the ski hill next to a Ford pick up owner who did that, but his door key pad had frozen

These systems are made by companies like Siemens and Bosch and pedaled to all the car manufacturers. Sure it starts with the high end cars but eventually trickles down to them all. I was driving next to a Chevy Impala today, it appeared to have passive entry by the look of the door handles.

I don't get it. Why isn't a standard key the activity key? They're small, durable, waterproof, never run out of battery, and are cheap to replace. You don't use it all the time so it's not a daily inconvenience.
I think it's aimed at someone who surfs or swims or whatever would keep him or her far enough from the keys to the truck that someone could take the keys and then the truck.Yeah our 2015 Honda Odyssey has the passive entry. It's nice but certainly nothing new. That bracelet is funny.
