There’s a new Defender 110 for sale on copart. It has 92 miles and is only missing the driver’s front fender and wheel section.
I don't know about low numbers. About 25K Defender 110s have been manufactured up to now (going by the last 6 digits of the VIN, which should be sequential), and if you consider the factory in Slovakia was basically shut down throughout April and May, they've really only been making them for about 6 months. Someone somewhere is buying them.
We have no cars. WE have two remote lots that are usually full of cars. I'm guessing we usually have about 2 acres of ground almost completely covered with cars. Now because of factory shutdowns overseas we have about 12 cars across both car lines. Not sure if it's a sign that we're going to start getting them but I drove past 3 rovers on the way out tonight that just got dropped off.
So that would supposedly make my 2017 Discovery 5 ... with 37K miles on it...
Dunno how you guys do it. I have 10k on a Velar I picked up in March.
Well if its any indication my service writer wants to buy my car once the dealer takes possession of it - he knows how well its been cared for.
Everybody can say what they like about the D5's but this has been a really, really nice car. Its quiet, comfortable, economical and 450 ft-lbs of torque is big fun. I know getting the Defender is sort of taking a step backward - especially going with the four cylinder gas when I was hoping for a diesel six - but it really meets my needs a little better and I'm sure its going to fit me just fine.
Yes, I am sitting out this year, the next, the next and onward! My "good car" just turned 100k. So now it becomes my car, the new 90 goes to my wife. But if the good car had 60k on it, I would sit this year out.
Great tip. Thank you. I had 19A. Just ran the update. Don't notice anything different immediately but I’m sure I will as I play around with it.Do you know how to check the software level of your infotainment system? I'm asking cause some cars I see always stay updated by themselves, others don't. In my shop I've traced the problem down to at PDI ( pre delivery). So if at PDI the tech didn't go in and turn on Software Over The Air, you might have old shitty software.
With key on and vehicle not moving hit settings softkey on the bottom of the screen, bottom selection in that menu should be software. Hit that and then your software level will show. 20B1 is current. If the bottom selection is connectivity and software isn't available as a choice then you are way way behind.
I mention it because you spend a lot of time sitting there by the miles you put on. The new software has been pretty solid and I've seen almost nobody come back with all the usual screens booting slow, booting again, all the shittery. This is something you should be able to download by yo self.
Now 3 months later every high end dealer in our area is having record months. We just sold 130 new cars last month. Not a record but a great month.
To me it doesn't really compute. Times like this make me get tighter with my money.
Never been a fan of the Flex.
My new 110 has arrived at the dealer
