Lack of engine braking, Stew.
Turbo doesn't spool when the throttle's closed, so all engine braking for a 5500-lb vehicle you get comes from a 2-liter 4-banger.

I made a honest effort to sell my wife the new 110. Even got her to sit in the driver's seat - in a very favorable location, on a 12k-ft mountain pass.
She said it sucks so bad.
Then we compared interior volume and cargo compartment size with the LR4.
One's a truck, another has room for three golf bags.

Great pics! Thx for sharing.

This is too funny. First you tell Stew you're good at whacking, and now this? Put the lotion down and step away from the Kleenex box.

I've been really good at any sport I participated in. Had scouts come to watch me play baseball. Back then there wasn't really any money in sports and I wasn't a big fan of baseball so I got a regular job. Anyway, fighting and fucking fall in the realm of sports so both came naturally to me. Plus grew up in a small town so not much else to do.

Before I step away from the Kleenex box. My wife and I met through a guy I knew and his wife. Amy and her were good friends. As good friends they talked. So one night I stopped by the bar on my way home and the wife's friend was in there, drunk as a skunk. I sit down and talk to her. After a while, she's like "I got to go, help me out to my car". I offered to call her husband and she was like "NO". So we get out there and she opens the car door and puts her shit in and asked where am I parked. I turn around and point at the truck and am like blah, blah, blah, and turn back around and she has her pants and panties at her knees and jumps on me. Apparently the GF/now wife had been bragging to her and she decided she'd like to try that. Funny thing. At the time some of these small communities were paying for ET's to be remotely stationed. So there was one in the parking lot pointed right at us. They had to have been like "homo".

I have more stories fish if you'd like to hear them.

I feel like all these pictures would look much better if the Defender were lifted 2" or in whatever "off road mode" it has. Lowrider shots aren't very flattering, like a woman taking a selfie from lower than head height so you see the double chins.

Great back-story, Jack. Ok, I will respect your wishes and not steal that Series. But let me know if you ever decide to sell.....

Oh good, more ramblings of a 17 year old kid. Will your next story start with "One time at band camp..."? 🙄

I don't have many stories from 17. Have some really good ones from 27 and more from 37 but they become about me and the wife.

So I had a girl working for me who was bi. We"d bullshit around a lot at work. One day she's like "come to the house after work and do me". I politely declined pointing out the whole wife thing. She thought for a moment and said, " my girlfriend and I are getting together this weekend, I'll call you and I promise you we'll make it worth your while". I was like "please don't do that". That would have been hard to pass up. When I told the manager about that he was like "dude you'd have to. Take your man card away for passing that up".

Why the hell would you tell your manager??
I was on the course one day and this manager came busting down a hill on a cart and was like "dude, the word is Steph did Ashley (a college girl that worked the 19th hole and pro shop). Told him I'd find out. Found Steph and she was like "yeah I did. She had broken up with her BF and was all down about it so I got her drunk and took advantage of her. I did her on the bar then I took her back into the lady's locker room". After I told him the details he just might have gone home and wacked off. It was a small town and I knew the guy well.

It wasn't uncommon to work late and it wasn't uncommon to drop by the 19th hole and check in. Probably best I didn't walk in on that.

Defender spotted in Indy. They put indicators in the fender flares? Who does that? No modding allowed.

One I see regularly has the lunch box. Just don’t get it. Have been seeing a bunch around here recently. Saw 7 or 8 in a day last week.

I'm sure it's a pleasure to drive. Great for towing your Skidoos to the lake. Pulling a camper to the local state park. Overlanding to some remote lake on some unmaintained roads. Way mall-rated. But IMHO it doesn't do justice to the Defender badge.

They only add them in the US / NA apparently, so there must be a good reason (legal?) for them. The same exact fender flares installed on Defenders abroad don't have those side lights.
I'm guessing it's because none of the turn signals wrap the sides or are visible from the side. So they had to add those, like a Pacifica.
