How many times does this need to be posted?
Was it posted already? Sorry it just came across my news feed. It is really unfortunate LR, in this day and age, can't make a reliable vehicle. We loved our DII but the constant repairs were problematic. Even though most of our issues were covered under warranty it was still a PITA being without our DD and the trip 1.5 hours away to pick it up.

Yep, and main reason we have alternative vehicles other than the Rovers. The D1 is my DD yet being retired that at most is about 15 miles. 😂
In general I can perform basic maintenance on all my vehicles and AAA is close by if needed.
I’m hoping that this an anomaly and not typical although it will probably spread on the net and give a bruise to it.

I guess I just don't understand the lack of effort in dealing with the reliability issues. Twenty years have passed since I owned our DII but yet here we are still talking about the problem. Other companies have it figured out. You don't hear about reliability issues with Kia, fucking Kia. Yet a LR can't make it to the end of the driveway without something fucking up. At some level that's just incompentence, plain and simple.

Came across my news feed. A engine stall at a stoplight is called a "minor glitch". Didn't sound like a widespread problem so OK. Now doing 60 on a curvie highway, maybe not so minor no matter how infrequent.
With my ‘94 LWB had a batch of bad distributor rotors. The engine would just quit. Was fortunate that the incidents were in places I didn’t have serious issues. Inconvenient for sure. Yet something that could be resolved. Not so sure it will be that easy on a newer Rover.

Good luck with that.

I’ve owned both: Jeep CJ5 and ‘95D90. Both manual transmissions.
No doubt the D90 was the more robust of the 2. And the more capable.
Just not sure a potential Jeep buyer would head to a LR dealer. And same the opposite way.
However imho the new D90 will be better than the current short wheelbase Jeep. Time will tell on the reliability factor.

Good luck with that.

Either the source miss attributed the statement about the Land Cruiser Prado being the biggest Land Cruiser available or the LR rep quoted is a moron. Either way I quit reading there. They don’t know what they’re doing or what the Defender is competing against.

If this is a one off so be it. If not then WTF. How can reliability not be priority number one in discussions in the development of this rig. You're reviving an icon, you really need to get it right, and you shit this out.
