Any updates on ownership Jack? Curious to know if you’ve had any of the issues that people doing reviews have had.

No issues with my P300 at all. I'm enjoying it very much and fuel mileage is improving as it breaks in. I'm at 3500 miles now.
Highway mileage is around 18 - in town 15-16. Power is great - the 4 cylinder has a lot of punch and it cruises at 70+ effortlessly.
The only downside is the seats aren't as comfortable as the ones in the Discovery 5 and I miss the 30 mpg I was getting with the TDV6.

Cushioning or design(width, adjustability, etc.)?

The cushion is fairly hard relative to the LR3 and Discovery 5 I had previously and I don't have much personal cushion in the seat area (my friends refer to it as noassatall) so I'm thinking maybe a supplemental cushion for long trips. I have the eight way seats so adjust-ability isn't an issue its just harder than usual. I'm perfectly comfortable in my Defender 90 for long distances so I think Land Rover has made the seat harder for long term durability. I got the full leather HSE spec seats. I could easily do a 600 mile day in the D5 -it would get a bit painful in the Defender.

LR4, RRS and RR used it, and other than the defunct LR4 they still do at the higher performance end (SVR, Autobiography), either NA or SC but basically that same engine. My understanding is that they used to source it from Ford originally but now they manufacture it themselves. The LR3 used a similar design but smaller displacement NA V8, a 4.4 liter.
