My battery is fully charged but the engine will not crank. I get all of the lights on the dash but engine won't turn at all. It is not clicking so I don't think the starter is the problem. The cables were very corroded so I cut them to get fresh wire and connected a piece that handles multiple cables. I have read there could be a relay problem but can't find the information again and have forgotten which relay. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

I am having the floors redone in the house so cannot go downstairs to check for about an hour. Meant to mention, I am getting some faults with the Hawkeye code reader consistent with an alarm issue. Faults are P1668 and 108. I think the P1668 is an anti theft code.

I turned the key and it started right up. After awhile, the green mode lights at the bottom started flashing. I turned it off and then it started again. Now, it seems to start at times but not at others.

Don't assume that starter is ok just because it doesn't click. Check for battery voltage on the small wire on the starter while someone tries to crank it.

Got it to start by entering the default code into the vehicle with the door key. Started several times and then the horn started blasting and it hasn't turned over since. I'm getting the same fault codes about the security system but now cannot enter the vehicle code via the door as the electric door locks now do not work. I can lock and unlock it with the key but the other doors do not lock. Likewise, the central door lock/unlock button does not work. I am getting a few lights on the dash. Most prominent are the green M and S lights at the bottom center. The indicator that normally would indicate Park with a large P is once again a large rectangle with a horizontal line through it.

I disconnected the battery overnight but it had no effect. I have a Hawkeye code reader. Is it possible to enter the vehicle's security pin through that code? I'm beginning to get dejected.

Thats probably because we dont use that code in this market. You probably just bounced that lock cylinder switch enough times that it got activated.

i now have the correct code from the Hawkeye. Not sure how to get it into the vehicle now that the electric locks are not working. I also just realized there is an issue with the starter motor. i could not hear the ticking sound until i listened while someone else turned the key. The cable from the battery to the starter motor is a bit loose at the starter. I have had this vehicle for many years but the 4.6 was recently replaced with a very, very tired 4.0. I thought it was a rebuilt engine but it was a used one. long story but i have had a lengthy illness and believe the shop took advantage of my wife. i am trying to correct many problems at once in order to limp along until i can have an LS 5.3 installed.

Today it started fine. Green flashing dash lights and flashing "D", then three amigos and now nothing. Hawkeye says anti-theft light is intermittant. Starter did not hesitate at all. will drive a little more, shut it down and tighten up any lose cables.
