Long time no see boys. I am clearing out some garage space with the help of a no reserve listing on Bring a Trailer. I think I gave a ton of detail in the videos and listing, but feel free to ask questions on BaT. I know P38s aren't for everyone, but figured I'd share for those few fans among us.

Noticed you used Mobil 424 in the transfer case. I’m going to change the fluid in one of my D1s. Just curious, why would you recommend this? I’m not questioning the choice, just looking for advice.

Your D1 would take gear lube which a P38 would take ATF in the transfer box. The P38 doesn’t have a LT230 and it utilizes a viscous coupling

Saw this pop up on there, great truck for the money right now. Curious as to how high this will go since its not a cream puff like you usually see on BaT but is an amazing quality driver. I wish I had the time and extra cash, I'd buy it. GLWS, hope you get the money it deserves.

I bought a P38 last year that used it, but honestly I had never of it. The previous owner said it was recommended to him by a Rover shop for the BW boxes. It works fine in that truck, so when I was base lining this one I went with it. Castrol DexMerc ATF would likely be fine, but the 424 is somewhat thicker. Like jymmiejamz said, the LT230 can just use the same gear oil as the other diffs.

I am as well. I am also curious to see how many creampuff cars are really in the described condition. I sold my Bronco EB with a clean frame last year, and was happy with the price. A few months later, a XLT with a frame that looked like someone took a spray can to a sunken ship went for double what mine brought.

2020 was (and 2021 so far is) a weird year though, so nothing surprises me anymore. I got back into racing and just need the space for building things, so that's why I went with no reserve.
