Wow, $48. They are proud of that one!

If that turns out to be bad, it may be worth measuring it and getting the $7 version from the local auto store.
$48.00 would be a steal! Some vendors want $194.00!! Where did you see $48??
Have appointment set for Jan 10th with the shop. Just too much for me especially without a lift. He works on my Disco as well. Good thing is we know where to start.

This is for the 94 classic but I just took a quick look so this may or may not be the correct cable.

Ok. Thought I’d close this out.
Flyfish hit the nail on the head.
We had a break in the weather so roads ok without salt on them.
Had the starter cable replaced by my mechanic and now getting a solid 13.8 volts at idle under load.
New battery also helping.
Both tests in Workshop manual now passed.
Thanks again to all for the support.
