Is there any way to troubleshoot and repair the EAS system without going to a dealer? My truck went into failure mode the other day, at least it goes to the normal ride height. The Rave CD basically says to connect the testbook to read out failure codes, troubleshoot and reset the system. The closest dealer is in McAllen, over 100 miles away. Any ideas, other than convert it I mean? I am planning on doing a coil conversion but was hoping to get a little more use from the EAS yet. :(
Thanks,
Jim

You will have to bring it to someone with either Testbook, Autologic, or, Rovacom to reset and read the fault codes. At least it still goes into normal height and you aren't on the bumpstops. It sounds like a minor EAS fault since it is going into normal height, but I wouldn't waste more time and money trying to fix the EAS in an RRC. Convert to coils, conversion kits are relatively cheap compared to EAS parts and easy to install. Plus you won't ever have to worry about EAS problems again.

I'll second that, convert to coil spring before it goes to hard fault mode and stays on the bumpstop.

I went thru the same route, I even spent time hardwired switch to manually raise the car high or low. It was really cool for a while, till one of the air spring started leaking badly.

I decided to convert to the coil spring, got the OME Medium spring and I really should've done it earlier!

anyway, good luck and if you need more info, let me know.
