Nope, its a different language compared to the standard ODB2. You will need something that understands it.

Sorry for being late to the party. Two new jobs (one job being absorbed into a new company) and a mild stroke have kept me busy. I have since made a new cable and have the old one I could ship out to a guy in need.
I made the cable for pin-shifting as described earlier in the thread.
then I tried to use that cable with my neighbor’s “Launch” code reader (he probably got it on Amazon) that claims that it can reset airbag light on Disco 1 (I had verified it not to be the case with the supplied/std OBD2 cable) and no luck for me (I have a NAS 1996 D1).
Is your new cable anything different than just pin-shifting?
Happy to help get this supported/troubleshooted. I will get my Nanocom state side in 3-4 weeks and, if I have to, will purchase the D1 license for it. I have already paid 3 times to get that light reset (yes, every time you start with a low battery codes are thrown/light comes on and nothing but resetting fixes it).
