Howdy folks,

Long story hopefully short:
Inadvertently left the ignition on for a couple hours after fixing right rear window arm popping out of track.
Turned ignition off and didn't think about it affecting anything else.
Went to drive it later that day, and the brake switch is apparently bad - stuck in park.
I carried a Disco brake switch from a previous truck, and tried to use it to replace the RRC brake switch. They're not the same switch; the only difference seems to be the length of the plunger. It still works somewhat in that I can now shift and drive, but the brake lights are stuck on. I searched on various parts sites and couldn't find a brake switch that matches the one that was in the RRC.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to extend the plunger and make it fit the RRC? If not, would someone please post a part number or link to the correct part?

Also, am considering selling it. In general, it has the normal oil leak issues but runs well and have driven it halfway across the country and back. How's the market? Located in California Central Coast.

Thanks,

Jeff

You should be able to pull out the plunger and it will self adjust when you release the brake pedal after you install it.

Just returning to say yes, you're right, it just needed to be pulled out. Seemed like it was taking to much force and it might snap. Thanks for the reply.

It's now at British Sports Cars in SLO waiting for about a 6 month backlog of cars to be serviced before they get to mine for a new TC and lots of little stuff...crazy how busy garages are.
