Having trouble torquing down the connecting rods after installing rod bearings. After torquing down pistons 1 & 2, I'm finding the crank impossible to spin, which is required to torque the other rods down. I've broken 2 breaker bars attempting its rotation. Once both con rod pistons are loosened up then she'll spin. Anyone been here before? 30 yrs of experience and I've never seen this one. Thanks.

well since you've narrowed it down to the conrod torque, it seems pretty clear you have the wrong size bearings? Did you plastigage it? The crank should take, what, 30-40 pounds of torque to turn over? Maybe half that with the plugs out. Breaking two breaker bars on it doesn't sound good...

Good question - STD bearings were used as STD were previously installed. No plastigage measuring was done - Just a feeler gauge in between rods.
