Alright, now I'm finally going to sell it. I've listed it before and backed out but now I'm going to do it. I've bought an 01 DII SE7 so it must go. Let's do this fast so my kiddo's don't find out.

1 of 5 1996 Discovery's used to select the U.S. Camel
Trophy team. Own one of the rarest of all Discovery's. Land Rover used these to pattern their 97 Disco XD's off of.

This is a two owner D1 in very good condition. I've owned it for 2 1/2 years and have made two trips to Scottsdale, AZ from Norman, Oklahoma in it. The PO lived in Scottsdale.
Over $4500 in preventative maintenance in the last few years. Including rear main seal, valve cover gaskets,Genuine water pump, fuel tank, power steering pump, hoses, plugs, wires, transfer case service, differential service, brakes, Oxygen sensors, wheel bearings, VSS, hoses etc...
Highway miles (125K). LN Michelin tires, etc...

It is AA Yellow with Black, 5speed manual (you must drive it to believe the difference between the auto and stick), jump seats,
original interior in Excellent condition,D2 cup holders, OEM waterproof seat covers, Manual seats!, No leaking sunroofs, Rover rubber floor mats, skid plates,CD changer, Brush bar with winch tray, 4 hella lights on adventure rack,Low profile adventure rack, rear ladder etc... No wreck or damage
history.

http://www.4x44u.com/pub/k2/cameltrophy/ct97/
look at the bottom of the page under US Team Trials.

The cruise control is inop...I think due to a hose leak,

For original pic's of 1 of the 5 in action. It is one of them w/out all of the product stickers. Email
for more information.
Reduced for quick sale.
Buy it Now$7989 or best reasonable offer

Sorry Mike, it was for sale in my mind then...I'm also sorry that you were on VACATION in Oklahoma... Shippers aren't too expensive. There's an early pic in my profile...it now has the correct door decal. I'll post some pic's soon.

Thank you,

Ross

Pic's posted now... It is very dirty due to snowing last night. The rack isn't on it currently although it is included with sale. The PO had painted the black bonnet decal on and I recently touched it up. I have an original XD/globe bonnet decal that I can include or install. Chessie is negotiable in the sale...not really.

Thanks

Does the Ch. Bay Retreiver come with the XD? JK.

I see a bird dog collar on him. Do you use that dog for upland hunting? How does he do? I know they are mainly water dogs.....like my 3 goldens.

If my G4 had sold quickly, I'd have that XD on a flatbed heading my way.

Chessie not included in THAT price...

He is training for upland now. Working on whoaing. His dad learned to point and we are attempting to see what he'll learn. He didn't run after the rabbits when we were pheasant hunting which is a good started. He busted one point from one of the other dogs but I doubt he does that again.

He definitely loves to duck hunt though. I can't open the back of the rover this time of year without him wanting to go. In the pic he loaded up before I could take the pic.

Great dogs though. I replaced my best friend on 11 years with this one. He's getting there.

I've got some nibblers...how about $7499?

Hurry, because now that it's cleaned up I've been contemplating a 2 Rover household again.

Wow Charles that is very cool! I think a great price in being that it's nearly a very unique 1 of 5 kind!

Wish I had the space in the driveway - but Jen's hogging up all the room atm - :)

I think that the right afficinado of all things rover will appreciate the uniqueness of this one or they'll have experienced a 5-speed Disco purrformance and refuse to settle for a slushbox...:0)

Nice thing about mine is all of the previous work/maintenance that has been done to it. Marcus, didn't you have to spring for some major engine repair or something right after you bought your XD? Of course that could happen to any 8 or 9 year old vehicle, mine not withstanding. A lot of the semi-major stuff has been attended to and a few of the major things as well. READ...$$$$$ spent already.

For a few days there was an 97 XD on autotrader for $4999 out in Phoenix at a wholesale ebay dealer I know of. I called because that was a phenomenal price. I was informed by a local source that it wasn't a "green light" truck mechanically so I didn't pursue it further. It is now sold.

Marcus, thanks for the input though...After seeing how well your truck looks all lifted and kitted out I"m leaning toward turning this one into a weekend warrior... I really like how your XD is turning out as does my 8 y/o son, who, btw, has pictures of Ho's old XD plastered to his door. So I have a lot of trepidation about getting rid of her.

Do it! You already own a vehicle people spend years trying to find.

Somehow my wife doesn't seem to appreciate it like my son and I do... So it's off to ebay if no takers here.
