96 Disco Purge Valve

I believe the purge valve just before the charcoal canister is bad. Does any one know a way to test it to determine if it is really bad or not. Land Rover only sells the valve & canister as a kit and it cost $144. I don't want to throw down the $$ unless I really need to. Any one have a cross reference part number for the purge valve.

sorry.. don't have a part catalog but i suspect your best bet is either to call someone like rovers north or atlantic british or something like that or find someone parting out their disco
