98 LSE chrome bumper repair

Anyone try to repair these bumpers? They’re nearly impossible to find and I do like the originality of them, thus rather save it then not.

Aside from a full rechrome, anyone patched these up with any success?

the only way to save that would be a total rechrome . it would take several coats of nickel to smoothen out the pitting before rechroming.

I sent one to the metal recycler 5 years ago that was in pristine condition. I have another D1 with this bumper now with a small dent which also has perfect chrome. I bet if you posted in the wanted section someone probably has one they could send to you.

Might look into a chrome wrap.
