Well, things are still going slow, but made a bit more progress today.
To recap, I've cleaned and painted the axles, bolted them to parabolic springs, and put them under the new chassis, and have run new wiring harness and brake lines. Today I've gotten a new gas-tank installed, and I also installed my parking brake. My engine had been set into place, but I went ahead and tightened up the transmission and motor mounts, and tweeked on the steering a bit (have the arm on the steering relay now). On my hard-top, I pulled out and threw away the headliner (let me tell you, it's scary what all can live in there.... ants, wasps, mud-daubers, bumblebees, spiders, and other bugs that I don't even know what their name is.... ). I also removed the sunshield, so that I can properly clean up the vents and then paint it well before reinstalling. Also cleaned up some of the windows, getting them ready for installing back into place.
Most of my body panels have been worked over many times, and are now ready for painting. Still need to weld the bulkhead up, and have it galvanized. Once I have it installed, and the panels painted, it'll be a matter of bolting all the other bits back in. Still a long ways to go, but, I'm heading in the right direction.......
FWIW.....
