I finally completed my 5400 mile move from Anchorage, Ak to Warner Robins, Ga today. My 98 D1 held up like a champ considering the CEL came on just outside of Sidney, Ne. It seems one of O2 sensors went out on the right side (P1158). I'll replace all four of them since I just went over 140K and they probably need it. For such a long ride, I'm surprised at how comfortable the seat was, although after driving the ALCAN I need a good Chiropractor!

Since this will be my home for the next few years, I should get to know my DWeb neighbors. Any of you around this area?

Come to SAE in a few weeks!

Once I find a place to live and get set up, I'll look into heading up there.

I'm a little sore/tired, but the couple hundred mile trip up there is a walk in the park now!

I spent some time this morning crunching numbers mileage/fuel costs and they weren't too bad.

Traveling 5435 miles with 860 lbs of gear (including me @ 180 lbs), I averaged 16.3 MPG on a stock D1 at about 70 MPH (avg). Not bad at all! :D

Are you Air Force? I have some freinds down there that I used to fly with. LtCol Kenny Richards is a pilot down there on the C-5 side of the house. If you work there go see him and tell him Mike Fisher said to buy you a beer!

Welcome to the lower 48!

flyfisher11 - Yep, I'm in the AF. I just went over 20 years as I was going through the
Yukon. I'll try an look him up once I get access to a computer. I'm always
down for a cold beverage.

kk88rrc - It took about 8.5 days. I got to Seattle in 3.5 days. The rest of the way I
stopped in different states to visit friends, so I wasn't in so much of a rush.

stu454 - They are good numbers. I probably would have gotten around 17, maybe even
18 mpg if that O2 sensor didn't go out.

Jason - Next time for sure.

michaels - I might be headed to Montgomery after the new year for a few weeks. Maybe we can meet up.
