Rovers North. Just bought one and am installing it now.

Did you buy the "build it yourself" one or the complete assembly? If the build it one, let me know how that goes together and how easy it was to take apart your old one to salvage the glass, etc...

Need to replace mine at some point and am torn between the two choices....

I built it myself. It's a very nice and high quality kit. Disassembling the old one took some time. The key to it is to take a hacksaw and cut through each corner joint. Then you can just simply slide each side off of the glass. The other tricky part was removing the screws for the lock and handle assemblies, which were seized on mine. There is all new hardware in the kit so I just drilled the difficult screws out and trashed them. There are fewer parts to the new one than the original gate and everything just screws together and then you seal the window to the frame on both sides with a bead of black silicone sealant. It would be very easy to take it apart to replace the glass if necessary. It is pricey but for a complex reproduction made in limited numbers that is to be expected. I went this way because I couldn't see spending more for a used rust free original which will rust out eventually anyway when I could get an aluminum one which will basically last forever barring any accident.
