Anyone have a review for the Atlantic British long or short block engines?

I have a Atlantic British 4.6 in mine with top-hat sleeves- my old 4.6 slipped a sleeve- it's definitely has more power then the old 4.6- but I still have all the other known potential problems with the motor and my local shop that installed it is telling me AB isn't honoring the warranties on the motors reliably. I already had to do head gaskets at 20k miles- my shop did it under warranty but they were not happy about it and said since AB didn't honor the warranty they wouldn't do it in the future. Also- there is still the oil pump problems etc. I spent $11k on this motor- for nearly no power increase and the only more reliable issue is it won't slip a sleeve now with the top-hats in there- but otherwise it was a colossal waste- but in my defense- the LS swap kits (ACE and such) came out two years afterward. I'm very, very much considering the ACE swap anyway with a good 5.3 from the scrap-yard- then when the trans goes out adding the 6l80 and it's 5 speeds into a Marks 4x4 adapt and going all the way with it. I'd STILL spend less then I did just on the AB long block. Anyone want a built 4.6 with a HP cam and $23k miles???

Wow! Another glowing endorsement.
I know the engines are not built at the AB HQ, but across town at a shop they have contracted. That's probably why AB won't honor any warranty. There is some legal disconnect between the two. JMO.
So what was the cause of the head gasket issue? Some cheap gasket from the PRC? Poor workmanship in assembly?
"I got'sta know."

For them to use a shop they don’t have confidence in and won’t stand behind their work/finished product is about the worst decision I can think of.

Considering most of us have been bitten by the Rover V8, who would spend that much money on something that comes with a “good luck” stamp on the box?

Now would be a great time to go thru your wiring harness and make sure your crank sensor/ O2 sensor wiring is good. My harness was good but lost all its protective covering. I chose to use hydraulic hose wrap instead of the traditional covering you can find in the store. I know you can order some heavy duty wire wrapping online.
I plan to do that. Waiting for all the split loom conduit I ordered to arrive.

Thank you for this "review" - I was considering getting one from them - but decided after taking the engine apart that I would just have it machined and replace what needs replacing and put it all back together again for cheap. Sounds like the risk is about the same, lol!

And you know exactly what the quality of the work is since you're doing it.
