Anyone set up a paypal(or something like that)account for donations before?

We had some bad flooding in areas on the northside of Chicago. One of my Soldier's house flooded about 3 ft up on the first floor filled the basement and submerged his cars.

His insurance have already totaled all 3 cars, the navy post housing is covering some of the household goods that were ruined, but not all of it. Right now he is living in a hotel and I loaned him my Hunter to get around in.

I want to set up a way for the donations to be collected from the officers and NCO's of the unit that I can turn over to him. I don't want him to know we're doing this and I'm not sure how to go about it short of collecting it myself and turning it over to him.

I know some folks on here have pulled this off in the past so hopefully I can get some guidance.

Makes sense. I know it's a bitch to get something set up for charity on paypal. There are a shit ton of scammers out there who were setting up fake charities and spreading them on social media. I know banks can set up accounts for families who have had a disaster and people can just put money into the account. When my house burned when i was 15 someone did that for us and didn't act like it was a big deal. I don't know if that has changed

Hadn't thought of that Marty thanks I'll check on that tomorrow.

Max I wish it would be large amounts but its likely to only be 4-500 dollars we are a small unit and I'm just sending the info out to the NCO's and Officer's
