I asked The Wife where she wanted to go next. She said Aruba.

It looks legit, especially since Van Der Sloot is locked up.

Anyone have any tips?

The North half of the island is basically an offroad park. Rent a Jeep and explore. Awesome hidden beaches and caves.

Yea its a safe island too. Are you into fishing? Charters are cheap and the wahoo fishing is fucking amazing. Bring a 2 piece surf rod there are tarpon around the piers that will hit lures first thing in the morning.

Was going to suggest the same... I've heard great things about the fishing down there

Went for our honeymoon back in 2003 and then for a quick trip in 2012. We love Aruba. People are extremely friendly, educated, speak English and while they have their own currency, US currency is used interchangeably everywhere. For our honeymoon we rented a jeep and drove the entire island. Through the north end exploring off road as well as through neighborhoods on our way to the south end to Baby Beach. Stopped for lunch at some local joint and even got lost a couple times. Never felt threatened or afraid. Last trip we stayed at the Marriot in the Trade Winds area. Well worth the extra cost for the pampering, amenities and separate areas. Lots of great restaurants on the island, few casinos and the weather and water are amazing. If you like to snorkel, definitely head down to Baby Beach. Locals public beach with unbelievable sea life diversity.
