Autoclasica 2018 - 70 years Land Rover

Hi, local Classic Cars Clubs meet each year at Autoclasica - expo. This year we were asked to participate with models of our loved brand in a state "as standard as possible", to commemorate Land Rover's 70 years.
Local representative did not want to participate, so everything we see was done by enthusiasts.
We are enjoying to see how people admire our babies!

On the Series 2, with the safari roofs...
Are they vented to outside?
Is that what's going on with the apparent open layer?

As an aside, Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom (with Marlin Perkins & some poor bastard named Jim) was my first exposure to Land Rover products.
Even back then, when I was a small nugget, I thought they were neat looking vehicles.

And, last time I was there, Disney's Animal Kingdom has some safari-type ride, and there's an old Series truck parked there.
The big-ass bus things the guests ride in are obviously designed (loosely) on the Series trucks.

ex-my green 96 D1 was of the same dark green color. It was stock, and drove so well that I promised myself never to fuck it up.
A few years later, the valence plastic piece under the bumper was gone, OME springs went in, and the tires got a lot taller.
Sold it to my brother... now I miss it.

The "tropical" roof is basically a white roof over a roof, with about half- or three-quarters of an inch air gap.
It is pretty effective at keeping a vehicle cool!

I rescued my own plough disc, and in order to cook inside I welded its square center hole patch. It seems to be not totally tight my weld so it does its work as a genuine land rover: marking its territory with a couple of grease drops!

Regards

That?s funny

And really cool you made your own!

I bought mine from southwest disc. I got no welding skills
