I have owned one and outside of rust, which they do really well at, it was a lit of fun to drive. And a D1 is ugly, but we love them.
I really, really like those things, and they're not exactly growing on trees, either.
I'm still annoyed about the time I was out buying a car for someone, and came upon a Tercel, in 4wd, with a manual transmission, in absolutely showroom condition. He agreed. Bought it for $800, and had no choice but to complete the sale.
That was a $10,000 car. Maybe even more. It would have been for me, anyway.

That was one of my favorite cars to see on the road! Every time I would tell my passenger(s) that Toyota actually put a water and ice dispenser in the rear liftgate, just like a higher end fridge. They would look at that car and believe me every time...
