Not much new there, in the end. These guys have never understood how to make money, and they're about the biggest prostitutes in the automotive industry.

Those douche canoes did that to themselves if that's what is happening. Is John Lee still jerking off to guys in white lab coats building Rolex watches?

LOL. I think John is doing just fine. He has a new website and posts updates regularly.

Why the hate for EE? Did John hurt your feelings?

I have little respect for people that talk shit about their customers on a regular basis. Maybe he's changed. But "back then" he was a complete douche based on that and his holier than though attitude within the "community". It was somewhat comical, but not like he thought.

Yep, it sounds like John hurt Garrett's feelings.

The jabs and stuff worked better in person or via phone. I always found him to be quite jolly, but it's true he didn't have much of a filter. :)

I loved the old site, and wish I'd have archived it entirely. It was a damned sight more educational than any class I've ever attended.

They weren't exactly my crowd, as I'm not into that kind of Gucci camping, but they were always nice and patient with me. That's saying something, because anyone who's spoken with me will quickly find that my mind and my mouth aren't entirely connected.

I'm the sort that will call up a company and ask a question because I forgot I knew the answer. Did that with Global West the other day. If that doesn't make sense, go accumulate some head injuries and it will. :ROFLMAO:

Cheers,

Quite honestly, I have less respect for people that blow smoke up their customers' asses, telling them what they want to hear. Many other vendors in this community do that all the time. I much prefer a vendor who will tell me to my face if I'm making a bad choice. I also appreciate his impeccable honesty. I've never been told by John that a part will ship next Monday only to not see it for three months. If you order something from John, you'll either get a tracking number from him that afternoon or you'll get a call to tell you that it's unavailable. When it comes to his business, John is 100% bullshit-free.

I don't live solely by John's advice and EE equipment but they provided a base for me to de-fuck my truck and put together a solid kit for long off-road trips. I've taken the things I learned from reading their forum and combined them with a lot of things I learned on my own and built a truck that has served me well over 50,000 desert miles. For that, I will always be thankful to EE and the regular posters on the old BBS.

Yep, this has been my experience with the company now as well as in the past when EE first started.

And the old site provided some very worthwhile information. Hopefully some day it will be accessible again.

On the topic, thought LR was selling vehicles in record numbers? See more LR product at our local ski now more than ever. Jags not so much.
In North America, yea. Things have fallen apart in China. Europe's doing bad with Brexit uncertainty, and no one there trusting diesels anymore due Dieselgate.

When you charge what EE does, you have to offer top level service or why support them? I just did not need a $50 fork.

Funny you say that. I was a the Snow Peak store in NYC and showed them the EE site (old site). The prices from EE were lower than the Snow Peak store.
