I’d like to track down an imported D90 that hasn’t been upgraded or modified. I don’t want a leather wrapped dash, or a Puma hood.

You might try posting on nas-row.com. There are a few importers on the site.
It's just a sample size of one, but I got my UK D1 from Joel at Power Stance Import out of Michigan, sight unseen, via an eBay listing (checked his profile there and he doesn't have any listings currently). What sold me was the thorough video he posted and after I had my LR tech look at it, it totally matched how it was represented. Transaction was super easy too.

Proceed very carefully. Too many imports are polished turds.
I've looked at a few now, and even rusty ones are very expensive. Buying a NAS Defender look like a better option.

But rest assured, we have the same problems here and we're all land connected. (UK is not really an option right now)

Prices here in the UK are going up for Defenders because us Yanks are buying them up.
2 years ago you could get a nice Defender 110 with moderate amount of rust for 10,000-15000 quid. Now a sh!tty rust bucket is going for 20000-25000 quid.

This is practically half my workload anymore. Imported Defenders with worn out engines and shiny paint covering pandora's box
