Ok heres my most recent dumbass stunt. Go wheelin with a d-90 another disco, a rangie and a jeep. I don't quite make a hill climb so decide to winch up. while doing that catch traction over run cable, loop it around left front wheel, cut brake line abs sensor line and bend track rod all in one fell swoop.

now I'm on a steep hill, very muddy and stuck to a rock crawling jeep with no brakes and poor steering. not to mention I still have to go back down. oh ya did I mention its dark out and there is a d-90 behind me trying to winch up as well.

the good news is I have just ordered my new EE brake lines and they will be here soon along with a new rockware track rod. Who says Christmas doesn't come early!

I'm sure there are better stories out there so help me feel better and share :D

I worked myself too close to a tree last year on a trail in Uwharrie. Had to get winched sideways just to keep from damaging my driver door.

Last month, I got caught up with the same tree, on the same trail and I was too close to do anything. Couldn't move forward or backward without some major damage. Luckily someone in our group had a winch and set me free.

Next time, I'm putting the foot on gas and not letting off till I'm way clear of the F@%#ing tree.

LOL :)

Well when I first got the Range Rover I managed to get stuck in water up to the door sills. I was messin' around in the woods by the river and just went a little too fast into the water. Finally got out by woking the throttle. Just haveing a little to much fun i suppose.

This concludes my current statement

Yes, 'tis mine :D I was sitting in the driver's seat, thinking "Oh fuck", as little plastic bits were spraying out on the ice in front of me. The guy taking the picture on the other side continued to snap away, while the other guy next to him looked like he'd just seen a car wreck, which I guess he did!

Mike: Thank you very much for the offer, but I've already got it put back together. The only really annoying parts to get were the TJM bumper lights, but finally got those last week.

When Dave Lucas slid into the guardrail last week, his final thoughts were "this is what Andrew must have felt like"

Coney Flats is a "Moderate" trail I suppose, until you add 4" of snow and 4" of ice on the lake. No more high country stuff till spring for me.

Look at the white disco coming down in the behind the rocks video.

My worst dumbass stunt resulted in a bunch of stuff broken, 2wd and a winch session in the rain for about 1.5 miles.

Kyle,

That?s the spot you are thinking about, a little to the left is that big cliff and a long tumble down  . Tammy backed up after that little incident and drove right up it the second time with me spotting her. I was really surprised that she wanted to give it another go instead of just driving up the easy way.

Bri,

That hill on BHTR had me a little worried when I took my DII down it. It was Valentines Day and there was snow and ice on it at the time. Big pucker factor

I hate that stuff when it is wet and/or icy. Most fair weather wheelers learn the hard way why they call it slick rock. That white disco came down hot, even though it looked dry.

I did that trail in '96, but don't even remember that part. Hmmf.

Your ice story reminds me of left hand canyon last year. It was like a skating rink the last time we were up there, fortunately the ruts on that part of the trail were like rails and as long as the other vehicles gave you some distance to run-out, you were OK. That is when I was convinced the ABS on my D1 sucked. Any slight pressure on the brakes and all four would lock up, go figure. Its been disconnected since.

Here is a picture from the side. The ledge on Kane Creek has gotten worse since the first time I was there.
