When I was working downtown Chicago we had a guy we sent them to and he was around $200 bucks for the whole damn job. I have to believe he left the headliner board in the car and put the new headliner material on it in the car. It was 10 yrs ago but still. I couldn't get close to 200 bucks for that job.

Only loosely related but definitely in the realm of how different “entities” charge for services, I will reference what I paid for having a tree removed. I was quoted $2000 to take down a large dying (bark beetles) pine tree near my home. They would use a bucket lift to take the tree down from the top down. I was given the name of another person to get a quote. He came out and quoted me $200. He climbed the tree and took it down from the top down. You never know…

You have to take off the Rolex, close the garage door to hide the nice cars, put on cut-off jean shorts and a holy t-shirt, and stand there and drool and look stupid while they are reviewing the job to put together a quote. Doesn't hurt to have your middle-school-age kids out in the yard in diapers playing in the dirt.
