Do you ever come up with your own ideas, or just rip them off from everyone else?

Dans a bit cranky today it seems, why the anti LGI-ness? something we're missing in your history together?

the alum skid holds a different place than the rte anchor, not sure thats a rip off...I am not sure about bumpers arent they all kinda the same? every club wants that burke photo opp...

No issues with Larry or his business at all. It just seems he models his business off of Scorpion Racing. Scorpion, like Larry, stole all of their designs from another supplier/manufacturer.

Bill was in town doing training for the NW Overland Society. Without even knowing EE had ever done a slideshow with Bill Burke, we asked if he'd do a presentation on the Camel Trophy at ARB in Renton, WA. The PDX guys in our group wanted to see him too so I contacted Columbia Rovers to see if they'd host the same slideshow in Portland. They agreed, paid for it, and offered up free food. A good shop stepping up to support Land Rover enthusiasts.

Bill has given this slideshow to hundreds of groups. EE has *many* original ideas, but this isn't one of them.

We already talked about ripping off the skid plate from RTE, and the rear bumper from Trek Outfitters. Now it's Bill Burke http://www.expeditionexchange.com/slideshow/

Do you really think that the slide show was EE's idea? That it was somehow unique to EE? This is unique to Bill, it's Bill's slide show not EE's.

He can show it where he wishes, when requested, if he wants to.

EE was not the first to host this slide show and CR will not be the last.

You're right. Bill can do what ever he wants. So can Larry.

But when all the vendors start doing the same shit, it gets a little old. Kind of like when DAP started doing the Iron Chef. Next thing you know Rovertym will be selling LWRC guns, or Rovers North will be selling a Greg Davis rip-off.

Why can't people think for themselves?

are we talking dropping on head or could it be inbreeding?LOL

no really..a picture with bill burke is what everyone wants. i keep forgetting to take mine with him when he's around.

Dont get mad, get even, have your own slideshow, use a pocket knife as part of your winch line. Thats funny tho. Create a buzz. Got tie rods? cool! Introduce your own widget/bumper, call up burke to help promo your label and make some loot. It helps gel up the club, adds inertia, momentum, so now CR had Burke up there and they have a bumper. Sounds great, rite? the club enjoys it, its great for morale,Whats wrong with west coast vendors/options? dont hate, its good for the rover community

Heck, when I lived in NJ, I was fond of the idea of ordering from rovertym, I got my bumper in a group buy, some of the guys drove down with a trailer and picked up a dozen bumpers from RTE.

CR will be able to provide west coasters that option. I mean if tomorrow some dump truck mangles my rear bumper( I beat the snot outta it but cant seem to nick it, and its a rovertracks one off product, not an RTE) I may well consider a CR bumper over a davis or an RTE cause I'm in friggin canada, I mean seattle.

Iron chef, muddy chef, what eva, can we all know what the promo price is on the arb fridges already?(yes larry I need one, is CR selling those?)

LOL. This is like saying that a movie should only be shown at one movie theater.

People come and go from being land rover enthusiasts. There will alway be people around the US that want to see a slide show. I won't argue your points about people, stealing others ideas on products, that's another discussion but to dis a vendor for hosting a camel trophy slide show seems very strange to me.

Nuff said. Carry on.

It would be strange if that's all Larry was doing. It's Bill Burke, who cares, you'll probably be dumber after you see his presentation than you were before.

But there is a trail here. The Bill Burke thing is just another stone laid in the way Larry has been operating. Next think you know Larry will be selling CR recovery straps with chafe guards and a retention strap and start his own web forum.

So let's all harp on RTE, OME and all those people for copying the design of the spring!

I just don't get the flaming about this, especially related to a slide show. A show that customers requested and Larry hosted. I see that this is good customer sat wise and it seems like good work by Larry.

I have not seen the show, but have always dug the trophy videos. I think it would be fun to hear about it first hand and cannot imagine how anything Bill says would make you dumber.

I too like the idea of competition. Build from each others designs and lower cost. All fine by me.
