Who sells a black 'Land Rover' hood decal for a D1 without raised letters, like on white D1's or XD's. Seems all I can find are raised lettering like the D2 and/or in many shades of silver.

I've never found a good source. The easiest way I've heard is to get a rubbing of another D1's hood lettering, and then take it to a vinyl cutting shop and have them replicate. That's what I'm planning on doing.

I will be trimming that curl right off. Looks like something shifted during the cut. The left side of that leg on the R is off in the direction of the push out curl. It was less than $30 shipped so I gave it a shot. Doubt it is some kind of way to get around copyright/trademark infringement?

Maybe the one you receive wont have the curl.

I contacted him. I asked if he would make a set without the curl. He said no due to concerns about being sued by LR. I replied LR no longer supplies them. He said he would sell it to me without the curl. I ordered it. I’ll report back when it arrives.

Yes. Enthusiast clubs had to sign all kinds of waivers and legal documents just to continue using the Land Rover name and oval. Independent shops and companies weren't as lucky. Rover threatened to sue if they didn't cease and desist. A fine way to treat the people keeping your brand alive while they make Freelanders, Evoques, and Discovery 5's that are killing the brand.
Is LR as litigious and Porsche and Ferrari now? I love Porsche but they are asses when it comes to IP. You can't even use the font.
