I had looked around for a while but just did not want some neon blue gawdy aftermarket stereo that looked like a 15 year old kid bought from BestBuy

Ain't that the truth. That seems to be the target demographic for aftermarket car stereos

My iphone 5 is clinging to life so I've been unmotivated to work on this. Maybe next month

I can definitely relate to that - been there. Sounds like time for a new phone -lol. Please just keep us posted as I am in a 3 month stretch of buttoning up most of the final things on my truck for use this year and it would be nice to get this done while I have the center console out currently.

Thank you,
Allen

I found this BT plug,
https://articulo.mercadolibre.com.a...cking_id=bb46a5d0-4490-4980-b57b-1ced32deeb1f (I hope you can see this link) that makes possible with its microphone, to speak with mobile phone. My daughter can choose from rear seat, what we all will hear from music, and we also can put a micro SD with music. This FM plug is usb charger and its output power is enough not to be interfered by another stations. No mods, CD player still used, and casette player too
