Hello,
I was wondering if it is safe to change brake lines without bleeding the braking system?
If not, any instruction on how to do it would be very helpful! I have basic tools and I just bought the EE braided brake lines and am dying to install them.
Thank-you!

ALLWAYS change the brake fluid if you change the brake lines, you wil get all sorts of dirt in the lines when you remove them, anyway, an dyou don't want to mix old and new fluid.
Bleeding the brakes requires a clean glass recepticle, a bleed wrench and a lot of fluid ( 2 litres at least) .
Start at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder, then the next farthest, etc, until you get all 4 done. This will give you a basic bleed. Now take the wagon to your nearest brake specialist and ask them to pressure bleed the system, and you should be back to perfect.
good luck

Get a motive power bleeder. Worth every penny. You will need the universal adapter. British pacific and others carry them and know the right connector. It will save you air in the lines and turn bleeding into a single person operation.

Thank you for your help. I think having a shop doing the bleeding is the best idea for right now. Installing the brake lines seems pretty straight forward.
Thank-you!
