Ok, so my kid brother (who lives in England) is currently somewhere between England and Switzerland, in a 2016 Discovery 4 TDV6...top of the line with all trimmings, with wife and three kids, 4 bicycles and a couple of paddle boards....
And the truck is playing up. he says "unmitigated disaster".... He has a christmas trees of warning lights. Stopping the truck then restarting make them go away for a few miles or KM.
My first question to him (he has no clue about cars-He didn't even know he had a tow hitch on it) was can you tell the battery voltage.....he can't... Or can he if he knows how to look. Forget anything technical. He took it in to add a tow hitch only to be told it already has one....
My reaction to his description, is that the battery (assume there is only one, I don't know) could be failing. I don't know when they tend to do this. Or Alternator.....
Any way to tell the battery voltage on a stock D4/LR4? What alternative issues could be going on?
Edit. He tells me its done this before, the speed restricted warning comes on (not good on an autobahn) .....
