Looking to replace all of the bulbs in my dash and gauge cluster, but can't seem to find any info on all of the bulb socket types.

Type 286: 1.2W, 12V seems to be the majority in the gauge cluster.

What else?

I went to SuperbrightLED's and got the small bulbs for the dash. I can't remember the # of actual #74 bulbs then I replaced the 194 bulbs with Sylvania ZEVO LED's. The difference is night and day, and the Odometer and Trip are a nice clear white vs old yellow color. I went with the 4k LED bulb, but you can choose whatever color you want. Also when installing them DO NOT push the all the way down into the OEM LR socket. as they "could" short out. I've been running those LED's in both my D1's for at least 3 years now.

So I already went LEDs in the gauge cluster and I hate the way it looks. So much light bleed without proper coverage. Its definitely clearer than day. How does yours looks? Perhaps the LEDs I got are just too much?

I didn't have any issues with light bleed using the LED's I've got. Looks more like a D2 gauge cluster now vs old BMW. I kept the green covers on the 194 bulbs that lit up green.

Not a great shot, but you can see how uneven it all is. Notice how the trailer light is permanently illuminated haha.

I wonder if some are shorted for being pressed all the way in, though...

I put these LEDs in my 95, and like above @best4x4 said, it was a huge difference. I think I may have tried the green first and changed over to white because it looked better. Green is perfect if you ever install a RRC analog clock.

Also, if you’re doing the whole interior light LED upgrade, get the shifter bulbs as well. If your indicator tape is nasty, you can get replacements, and that makes the whole shifter look new again. They’ve gotten a little spendy, but sometimes you just have to do it.

Correction: I started with white and it was too bright. The green is really perfect for brightness and making the dash look right.
