Bumper for new to me D1

picking up a new to me D1 tomorrow. The guy has a couple of front bumpers: stock one that goes to the black D1 I’m buying and a tubular one. I’m having a hard time finding many discos with this bumper. It seems more of a Defender bumper. Also found a video of a similar one with more of a shelf for a winch.

So should I go stock or tubular and have it fabricated to fit the winch so the grill doesn’t require cutting?

Or find a different front bumper altogether?

Also the guy has several D1’s including and an XD wit original low profile roof rack etc.. however the black D1 has best engine etc...

You should grab the XD and just repair the engine. Unless you plan on beating on it. Then the black one is your best bet.
I've never been a fan of the Equipe tube bumper(coming from a guy with a tube bumper myself). I don't like the unfinished look of nothing wrapping the side of the truck back to the wheel arch. I've also seen those Equipe bumpers break right at the weld to the winch tray.

I hope this helps, I got a little too self conscience about the chrome and sprayed the matte black rubber stuff on the front chrome push bar. Does yours have the two parts that go right in front of the headlights? We’re these a dealer option or maybe for 98?

Take that thing off before it ruins a beautiful truck. The slightest bump and that thing will fold into your hood.

I find this rather nice, and am considering building a similar set up for my D2 to replace my increasingly structurally unsound one.
The tinworm is having fun with mine...

The bumper and the truck are for sale. i Had it off when I drove it.
