i didnt realize that you were going to have stock trucks going...but then there isnt much of a challenge...the trials that i ran in my old disco called for sliders so if we run easy trails then im game..although i want to run the moderate trails...and just so you guys know the trail rating system is all fucked up now..due mostly to erosion and 40in+tires tearing shit up..so a easy or moderate trail could very well be extremely difficult...and by that i mean you wont get up it at all..but they might have cleaned up since last time i was there 2 months ago
we'll have a good time scott, do you plan on camping or staying in the hotel?

I got the CB in today and all my gear is in one spot ready to go in the truck. Need to go through the fluids as well before the trip. Real excited for this one. Im going to leave Fri after work and probable sleep in the truck at a reststop near Knoxvegas. It would be nice if we could check into the rooms Sat morning.

I called Ed's Pizza and told them we could have as many as 20 people late Sat night. Apparently that weekend is supposedly their busiest of the entire year and they cant reserve a table. Of course I talked to some kid. I may try to call again tomorrow and see if I can speak with a manager. Only problem, it will be difficult to come up with a time because you never now what can happen, or where we will be at a given time. So, for now, I say we finish when we are finished and convoy to Ed's and wait for a table. If the wait is tremendous, we can try somewhere else and give Eds a try for lunch sun.

a few things to mention before the trip (mainly going out to sockers), please make sure you have solid recovery points, front and rear. the standard land rover loops are 1. hard to get to in certain situations 2. no designed for recovery and therefore break easily. if you do not have an aftermarket front recovery point dont go out of your way to drop it on a new bumper or what not, but if you do want to do something, you could order some JATE rings http://www.expeditionexchange.com/x...=&page=1&xid=73b98cee0b2df5c6bdd60e1091fd9f4c . the main reason i mention stronger front recovery points is the issue of safety, a flying D ring can be deadly. for a rear recovery point, if you have a hitch, it is very simple. just head to your local tractor supply store and pick up one of these http://www.mytscstore.com/detail.asp?pcID=3&paID=1027&sonID=746&productID=2088 . if you dont have a local tractor supply store, 1. find a hitch store or maybe Lowes?, and pick up a 3/4 hitch pin, the disadvantage of this over a reciever hitch is that it is not friendly in doing recoverys, but it is safer than the recovery eyes on your frame. 2. if you wish to buy a reciever hitch, pm me, and i could pick it up for you at our local tractor supply store. just a few last minute reminders to make this trip as fun and safe as possible.

good thinking Richard, i also have a tractor supply up the street and the hitch here is 44 bux, so anyone that needs one let one of us know. Maybe something else to think about is for the stockers to keep a thick strap handy for quick recovery's, maybe keep it connected to the front recovery pt on the trails, I know walmart has 30,000 pound recovery straps with hooks and eyes at each end for 10 or so bux. Personally i think everyone should have at least a shackel and strap in there truck.

Ok my bad i have a Working Mans store not tractor supply. so pm richard for the hitch if you need it

There should be at least 15 trucks there, maybe more, hard to tell about people but i know there will be atleast a few kids so let's try and keep it mostly civil ;) I think OFFROVER said he plans on camping.

CAN WE DO THIS so we have better idea of how your trucks are equipped and maybe how we should break into groups. If you aren't on the list pm me and let me know your going and include a little about your truck, if you don't have info beside your name pm me and let me know and i'll update teh list.. I know some of you have experience with Windrock so you guys chime in with your ideas on group size etc.

With a group this size were gonna need a little planning. But i cannot wait to get out there and get dirty! :D I'll be like this all week.

x2, and this is finals week, oh boy
When in doubt... pick "C"

Since its the holidays and money is always tight, Im sure there will be plenty of straps from those of us that wheel more often. Recovery in the back, I like richard's idea of using a hitch pin. You can get these from walmart, auto zone, advanced auto, etc for under $10. That will take care of the rear recovery. Jates for the front are the best.
