An alternative strategy could be to keep your 3” coils, add 1/2” spacers, 1/2 body lift, and some fender trimming. Spread out the compromise. Then fit whatever size tire you’re after.

Nothing is wrong with them they are just meant for the 3 inches. Just my opinion, but once you use spacers it makes the suspension less efficient. I use spacers right now.
They make different lengths, not just three inch.
If you want a 4.5 inch lift they can probably help. There are also things you can do to get your lift without spacers.
I though at one time they had 5" springs.
Using decent springs that we know will work is better than guessing at what spring to stick under there.
If you get a 3" D1 spring for the front, It will give you 4+" in the front of a D2. In the rear you can use a taller spring with a D1 spring perch. I'm running a half inch wedge under the spring to level it out. I would give you the spring numbers but i probably can't make them out anymore.
This is the set up I'm using and I have 35" tires under the truck.
You know what makes suspensions less efficient? Throwing spring with unknown spring rates and properties under a truck just to see if it will give you the lift that you want.
What else have you done to accommodate larger tires and a taller lift? If all you run are trails that need such large tires, may a Toyota axle swap is what you need.

A new guy was telling me somebody is making bumpers under the safrigard trademark, and somebody else is fighting him for the trademark. I'm trying to get around to looking into that.

Don't trick me into picking on people anymore.
The Facebook pages are pretty much just filled with trolls. There is some information there but you have to dig so deep for it it's not worth it. I read the Safari Guard bullshit and that's all it is, bullshit. He ain't coming back and nobody is making his stuff.
Last few things I had made for my trucks was from Bill Muetze and he is out of the business now. He sold off his equipment and jigs to someone but since I'm not sure exactly who it is I won't say.

Nothing good comes from Facebook. Nobody is going to make a living making shit for these trucks. There's only a handfull of them out there.buying this kind of stuff from the U.K. is a pain in the ass for me. All my credit cards get billed to a P O Box. Because of whatever fraud they have going on, they will only ship to the address on the card. I spent about a week trying to explain to some Brit that you can't ship a bumper to a PO box. Finally just gave up.

Makes sense. But I know what the spring rates are on the yota. Same as a rover. There curb weight is a 100lbs more than a disco. I have contacted a few different vendors, just waiting for a reply. I don’t just want super stiff spring that puts me in the air. I want a progressive spring that holds true and flexes as well.

I've bought a bunch of stuff from LR Direct and had it shipped to my work, no problems.

I have a new set of 5" RTE springs for $550 which will lift your D2 about 7-8" you need 2" spacers in the rear to level it just be warned that on a D2 if you plan on driving it on the road you will need to turn the knuckles about 8* to get your caster close and a Double double on the front to help the pinion angle

7-8 inches is beast. Probably a little too high for me. I would like a “tall” spring with a ride height of 4.5-5 inch lift. Basically spring to cover the void when the spring dislocates. A flexi spring. What are you running for drives shaft in rear? Double cardon with d1 flange?

I probably have a set of 3" RTE too they will net you 4-5" on a D2 I run a Double/double in the front and a double in the rear

Yea I installed my suspension today with 6 degree radius arms. Lift is 24” from center of wheel arch to untouched fenders. Definitely have a vibration at 40mph. Not really liking how the rear springs seat on the spring seat. I will probablay end ups doing a multiple cardon in the front and and double cardon rear. I installed my panhard today and have to align the truck. Way out of wack. One thing is for sure at +4 it becomes a giant snowball.

A new guy was telling me somebody is making bumpers under the safrigard trademark, and somebody else is fighting him for the trademark. I'm trying to get around to looking into that.

Don't trick me into picking on people anymore.

Those springs are stupid. I almost dropped the truck getting them out. when the axle was finally far enough away from the upper seat, the truck was starting to shift off the pads and the jack I had under the frame was shifting.
What springs did you go with?

Ive been running 3" D1 springs on the front to give me 4" on my D2. The rear I had to add 1" spacers and D1 seats to level it out. Its sagged a bit, but thats a good thing. It was a bit too tall when the springs where new. It stuffs the 35s perfectly.

A buddy modified my RTE towers to allow lower shock mounting. I have mostly down travel on my suspension. I can fully dislocate the front springs. Some people say that makes the truck unstable, but Ive had the opposite experience.

Im toying with replacing my TF springs with some 3" RTE progressive springs. I think 3" with the cutting I already did will give me roughly the same height with better ride.

Oh and Fj springs wont work on a D2. I already tried. Had a buddy with an FJ80 give me his old springs. They have a pigtail that doesnt fit our spring seats. You would have to use the FJ spring seat.
