I'd love to see some pics of it. It'd be even cooler if you did the front seats. D2 front seats are the LR seats that I am most comfortable in.

If you search, it's been done. But the D1 mounting brackets need to be removed and D2 brackets installed. I'm guessing it's more complicated than that:rolleyes:

Is that an easy drop in mod?
It was fairly easy. You'll need the D2 loops that are bolted to the floor for the back of the seat to latch into. The biggest hassle was working by myself and getting things lined up. The front feet of the D2 bench seat are springy to assist in folding the seat forward, so you are fighting against that a bit. It was just a matter of making sure the new holes I'd be drilling wouldn't hit anything under the truck, then trying to get everything tightened down by myself. In the end you're working inside the truck mainly so it isn't too bad.

I'll try to find some pics. My main concern wasn't comfort as it was safety for by youngest sitting in the middle seat. That said, I will probably be putting something else in the front next year.

It's not much more complicated.

You have to weld the rail to the mounting points, but it's fairly straightforward IIRC

Day 4: Sand Dunes NP to Lake City-ish
After not dying from a bear attack we explored GSDNP. Really a spectacular place. I've been to lots of sand dunes around Lake Michigan and also Jockey Ridge SP in NC, but there was something really special about having the Rockies as a backdrop.
Original plan was to drive to Wheeler Geological Area and camp there, but we were too late in the day to make that happen. Ended up finding a campground somewhere near Lake City.View attachment 57780
If that's where I think it is I was standing there 47 years ago.

Deciding to put updates at the end so they show up and to save on digging through the beginning of the thread.
Day 4 continued: The original plan called for driving from Great Sand Dunes to Wheeler Geological Area. We took our time on the dunes however and didn't hit the road until 3pm. Decided to cut out Wheeler and find a campsite around Lake City. Ha!!!!
We tried the first 3 campgrounds we found and all were full. Finally came upon Mill Creek Campground and snagged the last spot available.

Day 5: Mill Creek Campground to Ouray via Cinnamon Pass. 20170726_102043.jpg20170726_102155.jpg20170726_102443.jpg20170726_103501.jpg20170726_111204.jpg20170726_131511.jpg
