Computer reset

I have an 04 Disco 2 with a 4.6. Had to do and engine swap and replace several parts.
Needing to know what is the best way to reset the computer so that it is not trying to run based on the conditions of the previous motor and parts.

If you mean clear codes, most diagnostic units can do that.

If you are talking about resetting the adaptive values, I know from experience a Foxwell and Nanocom can do that.

Some people say to...
"Totally disconnect both battery cables and touch them together. Turn the ignition key to position II. Leave battery cables touching each other overnight. Remove ignition key. Reconnect battery next day and everything will be reset. Codes, adaptations, etc...”

Or just run it and it will adapt itself.
