Controller Arm Ball Joint ?

Can anyone tell me how to determine if this part is good or bad?

I have the arms off right now and the joint moves pretty easy, for example without the support of the controller arms is just flops over.

Comments or suggestions?

Thanks!

I would say that they are shot. I just finish replacing them on my truck. The new ones are nice and stiff while the old ones just flopped around.

I figured that would be the case.

However there is only one ball joint in the rear suspension, above the differential where the controller arms mount to the axel, the other end to the frame.

Any other comments?

Thanks,

Brian

Brian, A-frame ball joint shall not flop easy. It sppse to be nice and tight. I just replaced mine recently and i werent able to even move it with bare hands. Replace it :) Less worries for about 40$ .

Sergei,

Thanks! Will do. I'll have to take it apart yet again. Not too bad and this time I will have the lock nuts to replace as well.

Where'd you get yours for $40?
