Crank, no start. Details inside.

Those of you who are well traveled on the forums and Facebook will recognize these symptoms, but I am hitting a wall with diagnosis. 04 D2 is having a crank no start condition with flashing hazard lights that will not quit. First thought is that the inertia switch has been triggered. It wasn’t, but since I have multiple parts trucks, I swapped it with one from a running truck. No change. My scanner tells me that the switch is triggered, so I tried another, still no start. I swapped out the engine fuse box, and made sure that I didn’t have any blown fuses under the hood and under the column. Not starting. I wired the inertia switch wires together to eliminate the switch, still nothing. I read in a forum post to bridge the contact terminals at relay R9. Voila! We have a running engine! But the hazard lights still flash and the scanner still shows that the inertia switch is triggered. I tried swapping the BCM, then the ECM from a parts truck. No changes. With R9 relay installed, no start. Clearly, I shouldn’t drive around with a paper clip instead of a relay, and the hazard lights still won’t quit. I am ready to hear any and all suggestions that anyone can present. Tearing what little hair I have left out. Oh, I should mention, I bought it in this condition. The PO couldn’t figure it out either. I have three parts trucks, so I have plenty of parts. I just need some direction. Thank you in advance for your help.

There is an inertia switch near the pass side of the firewall in the engine compartment. Sounds like that got tripped. Push down on the round rubber button in the top of it.

Sounds like all the modules have been swapped and everything is not synced. Maybe try to swap speedo bcm and ecu from the same parts truck although sure you need some fancy computer to write the vin. Just a guess but that's what I would try.
