D1 Front Carpet removal

It's a small strip, not worth the time to think about it. Wait, I already wasted too much time... Use carpet tape for the repair after the cut.

Carpet tape its. Now to sort out where the water ingress is coming from. My spongy mat thing is soaked and crumbling to pieces along with the floorboard beneath it.

Mine was obvious, I had holes in the floor. Where the water came from to make the holes I don't know. People usually say the sunroof drain lines are plugged, but mine never were. Then they say AC condenser line maybe. I suspect something more serious on the firewall or the tray where the wiper arms are located.

Mine was leaking at the wiper motor seal. Took it out and resealed with silicone. Doesn’t leak now. I also had the sunroof leaks but removed and resealed the drainpans and drain connections. I cut my carpets after removing the console and I can easily hide the cuts. I tossed the foam mats in the trash where they belong. After welding in new sills and floors I wasn’t going to do that again
